Cues for tools

'Cues for tools' is an umbrella term for aspects of the component specification that, generally through the profile schema representation, provide information to editing, viewing and/or exploitation tools that is not related to the component structure, value schemes or other validation aspects. CMDI 1.1 already has a number of such cues:

• On elements:
  • documentation (@Documentation -> xs:documentation)
  • display priority (@DisplayPriority -> ann:displaypriority)
• On controlled vocabulary items:
  • Display value (@AppInfo -> ann:label)

There is the potential for a number of other useful cues. Proposal that should be considered for CMDI 1.2 are described in the sub-pages listed below.
