URLs are subject to change or unavailibility ('dead links' , etc.)

====Rules====

  • If no 'Reference link' was specified: drop.
  • If a problematic 'Reference link' was specified: contact 'Contact person'.

  • If the specified documentation URL is problematic: contact contact person?
  • Determine if tool is a web service and/or a downloadable application, then check only the URL(s) specified in the appropriate 'Link' field(s)?

E-mail address check

E-mail addresses are also often being changed without notice or unreachable for a long period. The 'Contact person' are primarily approached by e-mail so this field should be correct and current at all times.

====Rules==== The e-mail address:

  1. is valid
  2. is does not bounce
  3. is actually read

If the above is not true, then action should be undertaken, like dropping the record.
