Show display name in Flex UI

Description
Logged in users see there 'remoteUser' name in the top-right corner of the Flex UI. In many cases the user name is not very friendly (something like z1234@myinst.edu) it would be preferable to have the display name there. An additional benefit is that it will tell users if they have a sensible display name or whether they should set it (see #156).
Note the following remark posted as a comment to #156:
Showing the display name as a label for the user currently logged in (the one in the top right corner) is going to be a bit more tricky because currently this is the value of the remoteUser environment variable, passed to the Flex UI without much intervention. It can be done but it requires quite some refactoring.

Flex UI front end discontinued, this will be fixed in the JS front end
All open Component Registry tickets not on a milestone have been put on ComponentRegistry-1.15. Re-assignment to later milestones is likely for some of these tickets.
