As described in the wiki page CmdiClavasIntegration:

  1. the schema for component specifications needs to be extended to allow for references to external vocabularies (through, among other things, the 'Vocabulary' attribute on elements)
  2. the 'component specification to schema' stylesheet should be changed to reflect vocabulary information in the component/profile specifications so that it becomes available to applications depending entirely on the schema

Adding support for this in the Component Registry is covered in #370.
