Description
Since the migration of www.clarin.eu to TransIP the Icinga check for the host www.clarin.eu is on alert. Either it should be "pingable" again from the Icinga instance at least or an alternative check should be implemented. The CLARIN sysops (Sander and Willem) should be able to give advice on this.

It's simply a matter of fine-tuning the firewall configuration on our VMs at TransIP.

I've updated the iptables firewall config, which worked out well for the dev host but not for the production host (= www.clarin.eu). A reboot will be needed, so this ticket will be kept on hold.

hi,
we had a discussion about ICMP access to clarin hosts some time ago, because RZG is not available for those requests too.
For their hosts this is not a problem, because we receive the ping "data" from their local monitoring server.
Is it a firewall or is it TransIP? Took a look at the monitoring config, there we are not using a IP but the DNS name to access the server.
